Kate and Alan

Kate and Alan Burrows have owned their 8.5 acre piece of Devon countryside for 9 years now, and during that time it has always been their dream to live simply on and with the land and wildlife. Living a low impact off grid lifestyle. Using permaculture practices to grow a small holding. One year ago they were forced to leave our house in Somerset, and so with no option they decided that this was time to start our their new life on the land.

They moved all of their belongings into a small caravan down to the field and set up camp. Small but cosy but within 3 months of being on the site the local planning enforcement officer was here demanding that we leave within the next 6 weeks.

So they decided to build a roundhouse instead, despite what the authorities have said.
